“I Made A Fool Of Myself” — BIGBANG G-Dragon’s Fan Makes A Costly Mistake

A Malaysian fan of BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon was looking forward to seeing him live in concert, but in her excitement, she accidentally sabotaged herself.

Piann Lee recently shared her cautionary tale on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu (also known as RedNote). It’s a relatable one that anyone who has ever tried to buy K-Pop concert tickets can relate to. It can be difficult and stressful to score any ticket, let alone a good one, to see a star as big as G-Dragon, but Lee thought she was one of the lucky ones.
I thought I was lucky! I got in (to the ticketing page), picked my seat and paid!

Unfortunately, there was a mix-up. Instead of buying tickets for G-Dragon, who is coming to Singapore for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on October 3, Lee bought tickets to see Kenny G. The American saxophonist will be performing in Singapore on July 8.

But when I received my confirmation email, I found out I had bought tickets for Kenny G, not G-Dragon. I made a fool of myself!

She bought not one but two tickets for RM875 (approximately $205 USD). Instead of reselling her tickets for “Kenny G-Dragon,” Lee has decided to attend his concert with her husband, who isn’t a G-Dragon fan. For him, this whole mix-up seems to have worked out perfectly!

I initially planned to attend the G-Dragon concert with my colleague since my husband isn’t interested in G-Dragon. Now that I’ve bought Kenny G tickets, I’ll go and watch his concert with my husband. I’m very happy nevertheless because my husband is interested (in the latter).
