Popular Idol’s Reaction To “KCON” Staff Shockingly Shoving Fans Off Stage Goes Viral

Even the K-Pop star was stunned…

Fans attending the popular KCON Japan 2025 were left stunned… But sadly, it was not for the reasons they had expected.

A viral video from the event has sparked intense backlash, showing staff members aggressively rushing fans off stage during the popular “Hi-Wave” segment, with many calling the experience a complete letdown.

The “Hi-Wave” event, which takes place before the main concert and alongside the Meet&Greeet stage event, is promoted as a premium perk for fans. By paying an additional $61 on top of concert ticket prices that can go up to $109, fans are granted the rare chance to walk past their favorite idols on stage and greet them with a wave.

It’s marketed as a light-hearted, personal moment between artists and fans, but this year’s execution left many feeling disappointed and even mistreated.

Multiple clips from the event have surfaced online, showing staff members physically pushing fans from behind to keep them moving quickly across the stage. Rather than enjoying a calm walk and a few seconds of interaction, fans were practically sprinting past the idols, with little to no time to make eye contact or wave properly.

One fan even accused the staff of laughing at the way they kept the fans moving.

The video quality is super grainy, but the staff members doing the “push-off” were seriously terrible. They were shoving fans and laughing about it together. It’s exactly because this is the kind of job anyone can do that people like that end up doing it…

The videos have triggered outrage across social media, where fans criticized KCON staff for turning a paid fan experience into something that felt rushed and impersonal.

However, what caught even more attention was how one idol seemed visibly confused by the whole ordeal. In a now-viral clip, ZEROBASEONE’s Gunwook is seen looking around in shock as fans hurry past him. His puzzled reaction mirrored what many fans felt: surprise and discomfort over how the situation was handled.

As the videos continue gaining traction, fans are calling for KCON organizers to re-evaluate how they manage fan interactions in the future. What was meant to be a special moment ended up being a frustrating one, leaving many wondering if the Hi-Wave experience is even worth the price.
