aespa’s Karina Performs In Plagiarized Shirt From Another K-Pop Group, Stylist Under Fire

The design was stolen from a fan.

aespa‘s stylist recently came into controversy when it was found that her top during a performance had plagiarized its design. The source of the design was even more controversial — it was a fanmade edit for NCT‘s Jaemin.

The top’s maker had simply cut out the fan’s watermark and Jaemin’s name. The original design was an edit by @sevenpixells.

The design even contained the logo of ITZAVIBE, a local brand, and Narcissim, a brand created by Jaemin. @sevenpixells has taken to X to publicize the issue. They called out the sellers of the shirt, as well as the stylist for failing to check.

Other fans have similarly stepped up to express their disappointment. After all, Jaemin and Karina are under the same company.

With the bigger issue at hand being piracy, many condemn SM Entertainment for indirectly supporting it.

This “embarrassing” issue will certainly not be taken lightly by fans of both groups.

SM Entertainment has yet to speak up on the matter.
